One of the Ashtalakshmi representations of the Hindu deity Lakshmi, the consort of Vishnu. She is shown seated on a lotus in padmasana (cross-legged pose), flanked by two elephants. The deity is a recurring image in Hindu and Buddhist iconography and symbolises good luck and prosperity. From the Sanskrit gajalakshmi, meaning “Lakshmi with elephants.”
