Meenakshi Thirukalyanam

A temple festival held annually at the Meenakshi Temple in Madurai, Tamil Nadu to mark the ritual coronation of Meenakshi –– the principal deity of the temple –– and her wedding to Sundereshwara. Celebrated with rituals and a procession, the festival is held in the Tamil month of Chithirai, which corresponds to the months of April and May in the Gregorian calendar.
